A significant development has occurred regarding the appointment of the Chairman and Managing Director at Engineers India Limited (EIL). News-I.P sources report that Mr Gupta has been approved by CVC for the prestigious role. The Public Selection Board (PESB) had already recommended Mr Atul Gupta’s name for this position.
Further insights revealed that Mr. Gupta has already received clearance from the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). Following this approval, the relevant ministry is expected to forward their recommendation to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for the final procedural steps.
It’s important to note that following the completion of Mrs. Vartika Shukla’s tenure, the responsibilities of this role were temporarily overseen by Praveen Mal Khanooja, who is an additional secretary in the ministry.
