P.M. has launched ‘Jan Andolan’ an awareness campaign to promote appropriate Covid-19 behaviour

SHIMLA : Keeping up with the commitment of being a socially responsible organization in fighting against COVID-19, Sh Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN administered COVID -19 Pledge to all the employees via Public Address system at Corporate Headquarters, Shimla. On this occasion Shri Nand Lal Sharma, stated that everyone in SJVN is committed to be vigilant and follow the key message of the campaign- ‘Wear Mask, Follow Physical Distancing, Maintain Hand Hygiene’. He urged all the employees to collectively work towards encouraging others around them to follow the key COVID appropriate behaviours. On this occasion, Director (Civil) Sh S.P Bansal, Director (Finance) Sh A.K Singh & Director (Electrical) Sh Sushil Sharma were also present along with other senior officers. Sh. Sharma apprised that for combating the Corona challenge, SJVN has also contributed Rs. 25 Crore towards the PM CARES Fund. In the fight against COVID -19, employees of SJVN have already contributed Rs. 32,00,000 (Thirty-Two Lakh) from salaries to PM CARES Fund and Rs. 45,00,000 (Forty-Five Lakh) to CM Relief Fund/H.P.Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

The employees of SJVN have also contributed Rs. 59,00,000/- (Fifty-Nine Lakh) from their salaries to Corona Warriors (Sanitation Workers of MC, Shimla) (@Rs. 5,000/- per warrior). He also informed that SJVN has provided a financial support of Rs 3,20,00,000/- (Three Crore Twenty Lakh) to the Government & Govt. Hospitals to procure ventilators, other medical equipment, Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs), masks, sanitizers & gloves, beds, mattresses, three ply masks, thermal scanners, food items to needy individuals etc. With a view to meet any eventuality, which may arise due to COVID-19, 48 Beds have been earmarked for Quarantine at Jhakri, Jeori & Kotla. These rooms have been provided with all required amenities, electricity and are sanitized for use in any exigency. Awareness is being spread through Mobile Health Vans, Hoardings, Medical Staff and Radio Jingles.
