In a promising development for the iron ore sector, NMDC (National Mineral Development Corporation) has reported a significant increase in production and sales for the month of August 2025. The provisional data for FY 2025-26 reveals a commendable performance by the company, showcasing growth in both production and sales figures.
**Key Highlights:**
– **Chhattisgarh Sector:** Production stood at 2.21 million metric tons (MT) in August 2025, compared to 1.99 MT in the previous month, marking a noticeable rise. Sales also saw an uptick, reaching 2.28 MT, up from 2.25 MT in July 2025. Cumulatively, production and sales for Chhattisgarh have reached 12.29 MT and 12.55 MT, respectively, up to August 2025.
– **Karnataka Sector:**
Similarly, Karnataka witnessed growth in both production and sales. Production figures for August 2025 were recorded at 1.16 MT, compared to 1.08 MT in July 2025. Sales figures also showed improvement, reaching 1.11 MT in August 2025, up from 0.89 MT in the previous month. Cumulatively, Karnataka’s production and sales have reached 6.16 MT and 5.82 MT, respectively, up to August 2025.
– **Total Production and Sales:**
The overall production for NMDC in August 2025 stood at 3.37 MT, showing an increase from 3.07 MT in July 2025. Total sales for the same period were reported at 3.39 MT, up from 3.14 MT in the previous month. Cumulatively, NMDC’s total production and sales have reached 18.45 MT and 18.37 MT, respectively, up to August 2025.
