NHPC Commemorates India’s 79th Independence Day with Zeal

On the 15th of August 2025, NHPC marked India’s 79th Independence Day with a patriotic spirit at the NHPC Corporate Office in Faridabad. The event commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Shri R.P. Goyal, CMD & Director (Finance) of NHPC, accompanied by the rendition of the National Anthem.

Among the dignitaries present were Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), Shri Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), Shri Santosh Kumar, CVO, NHPC, and other senior officials and staff members of NHPC, along with their families.

During his address, Shri R.P. Goyal extended his heartfelt wishes to the NHPC family on the momentous occasion of Independence Day. He emphasized the significance of honoring the valiant freedom fighters who sacrificed for the nation’s liberty. Shri Goyal shed light on NHPC’s accomplishments, including the successful inauguration of the 800 MW Parbati-II Hydroelectric Project, advancements in the Subansiri Lower and Pakal Dul projects, and the commendable daily and monthly power generation records.

Furthermore, he underscored NHPC’s efforts in diversifying into pumped storage, solar energy, and green hydrogen technologies in line with the Government of India’s renewable energy objectives. To ensure wider participation, NHPC connected senior personnel and employees from its regional offices, power stations, projects, and units across the nation to the ceremony through a live webcast.
