Jaipur : All know a Refinery is a Hazardous factory dealing with highly inflammatory Crude and Products.Due to this very reason extreme care is required to Operate and Maintain it. Before it is operational the sequence leading to its start has to be done all the more cautiously as the operational stabilisation has yet to set in. Repeated procedures and SOPs need to be adhered to. Therefore such a Fire incident just before PMs inauguration is indeed extremely serious. Detailed investigation will reveal the cause in future.
In the meanwhile MoP&NG has in a message stated – Due to an unfortunate fire incident today in the vicinity of the Crude Distillation Unit at the HRRL refinery, the scheduled dedication of the refinery by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 21.04.2026 has been postponed.
The fire has been brought under control. There are no reports of any casualties.
An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause(s) of the incident and to undertake necessary remedial measures. A revised date for the dedication will be announced in due course.
