Esha Srivastava’s special invitation to GCC for India Energy Week 4th edition
By Z A Ansari : New Delhi: On August 28, 2025, the first-ever India-GCC Joint Action Plan (JAP) meeting focusing on energy took place virtually.

The meeting was co-chaired by Ms. Esha Srivastava from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) and Dr. Mohammed Al Rashidi, the Director of Energy at the GCC Secretariat General.

  • Discussions centered around outlining a strategic roadmap to bolster energy security, establishing a unified platform for investment, and facilitating knowledge exchange that transcends existing bilateral frameworks.
  • Both parties reached an agreement to launch the India-GCC Energy Forum as part of the Joint Action Plan, with biennial meetings planned to cover various aspects of the energy sector, including renewables.
  • Ms. Esha Srivastava extended an invitation to the GCC Secretariat to participate in the 4th edition of India Energy Week 2026 in Goa. She also encouraged GCC’s involvement in the Global Biofuels Alliance (GBA).
  • Dr. Mohammed Al Rashidi reciprocated by inviting India to take part in energy webinars and workshops organized by the GCC. These initiatives are aimed at fostering knowledge sharing and enhancing capacity building efforts.

The meeting marked a significant step towards fostering collaboration and synergy between India and the GCC in the realm of energy, paving the way for future partnerships and mutual growth opportunities.
