Dr. Jyoti Kumar Takes Charge as Secretary of PR Society, Delhi

New Delhi, 3 May 2026: Dr. Jyoti Kumar, Chief General Manager (Corporate Communications), GAIL (India) Ltd., has assumed the role of Secretary of the Public Relations Society, Delhi (PRSD) for the 2026–2028 term.

The apex professional body for PR and corporate communication practitioners in the national capital announced its new Governing Board, elected unopposed, during National Public Relations Day celebrations held at the Press Club of India.

Shri G.S. Bawa, a veteran communication strategist and former General Secretary, has been elected as Chairman. The leadership team also comprises: • Ms. Rama Vijay, former General Manager (Corporate Communications), REC Ltd. – Vice Chairman

• Dr. Akshat Chopra, Deputy Manager (Corporate Communications), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. – Joint Secretary

• Shri Vipin Kharbanda – Treasurer The new board brings together rich cross-sectoral expertise to guide PRSD’s activities over the next two years.

Focus on Excellence, Engagement & Enablement

Speaking after assuming office, Chairman Shri G.S. Bawa emphasised the board’s vision of strengthening the profession amid rapid technological changes. He highlighted a three-fold priority: Professional Excellence, Enhanced Engagement, and Enablement of young talent through mentoring, skill development, and industry-academia collaboration.

Dr. Jyoti Kumar, Secretary, PRSD, stated: “In a fast-evolving, high-velocity media ecosystem, the communicator’s role is more critical than ever. PRSD will act as a catalyst for upskilling, ethical practice, and thought leadership. We will create more focused, interactive platforms for professionals to learn, share, and lead.”
