NHPC Celebrates Young Artists at Energy Ceremony

New Delhi: During a distinguished event at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on December 14, 2025, India’s President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, presented Master Stanzin Chosyangs from Druk Padma Karpo School located in Shey, Leh, Ladakh, with a Silver Medal. Alongside this honor, Chosyangs received a laptop and a monetary award of Rs. 50,000. This award was in recognition of his exceptional artwork on the theme of energy conservation, which earned him the second prize in Category “B” at the National Level Painting Competition.

The event was graced by notable government officials including Shri Manohar Lal, the Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Shripad Naik, Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary of Power, and Shri Dhiraj Kumar Srivastava, Director General of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).

At the National Energy Conservation Day Awards Ceremony, NHPC’s Chairman and Managing Director, Shri Bhupender Gupta, praised the award recipients for their creativity and commitment to spreading the vital message of conserving energy. He emphasized NHPC’s commitment to nurturing young talents who advocate for sustainable energy practices. NHPC, under the guidance of the Ministry of Power and BEE, had coordinated school and state-level painting competitions as part of the National Awareness Campaign on Energy Conservation in several regions including Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Sikkim, Ladakh, and Madhya Pradesh.

This initiative not only highlights the creative capacities of India’s youth but also underscores the ongoing efforts to instill the importance of energy conservation in the upcoming generations.
