The seminar, titled “Contribution of Raj Darbhanga in the Spiritual, Cultural and Nation-Building of India,” held in New Delhi, paid homage to the enduring influence of the Darbhanga Royals in shaping India’s cultural and spiritual landscape.
The event, graced by prominent figures such as RSS General Secretary Shri Dattatreya Hosabale and Union Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav, shed light on the remarkable contributions of the Darbhanga dynasty in fostering art, culture, spirituality, and education over the centuries. Raj Darbhanga’s unwavering support for temple restoration, higher education, and preservation of India’s cultural heritage during challenging colonial times was lauded as a beacon of inspiration for all.
In a moving tribute, Shri Dattatreya Hosabale commended the visionary leadership of the Maharajas of Darbhanga, emphasizing their commitment to uplifting the poor and promoting learning and culture. Union Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav reiterated the government’s pledge to revive Bihar’s cultural and educational legacy, particularly emphasizing the rich heritage of Mithila. He underscored the historical significance of Mithila as a cradle of knowledge and spirituality, with Raj Darbhanga playing a pivotal role in preserving and promoting its cultural essence.
Kumar Kapileshwar Singh, in his address, shared insights into the ongoing philanthropic endeavors of the Darbhanga family trusts, underscoring their commitment to education, healthcare, heritage conservation, and cultural enrichment. He expressed pride in upholding the family’s tradition of service and pledged to continue their benevolent initiatives with dedication and reverence for the past.
