India’s Maharatna giant Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) creates history as the ONLY Central Public Sector Enterprise to clinch the coveted “The Green Apple Environment Award” at glittering ceremony inside Westminster Palace.
Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel), and Shri Jasbir Singh, ED (CSR), proudly received the honour from The Green Organisation, UK.
The winning project: “Dive into Opportunity” — transformative skill training programme that empowered unemployed youth from fisherfolk communities in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
POWERGRID now operates massive 287 substations, over 1,81,054 circuit kilometres of transmission lines, and staggering 5,82,516 MVA transformation capacity (as on 31st October 2025) while achieving near-perfect 99.84% system availability through cutting-edge automation and digital solutions.
