New Delhi, March 7, 2025:“The ONGC Para Games are a shining example of participatory inclusivity and development, setting new standards for corporate responsibility towards social equity,” remarked Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, while inaugurating the 6th ONGC Para Games at Thyagaraj Stadium, New Delhi. He emphasized the vital role such initiatives play in empowering para-athletes and encouraged other corporations to adopt similar inclusive practices.
Echoing this vision, Mr. Arun Kumar Singh, Chairman & CEO of ONGC, reaffirmed ONGC’s commitment by stating, “Since 2017, the ONGC Para Games have evolved into a flagship platform that not only nurtures para-sporting talent but also reinforces our dedication to creating an inclusive work environment for individuals with special abilities.”
Organized in collaboration with the Paralympic Committee of India, the 2025 edition of the Games has witnessed record participation, with over 350 para-athletes from major oil and gas PSUs—including IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, EIL, OIL, MRPL, and GAIL—competing across diverse disciplines such as athletics, badminton, table tennis, and wheelchair races.
What began in 2017 with 120 ONGC employees has now become a nationwide example of how Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) can lead the way in fostering inclusivity, talent recognition, and employee engagement. The Games have also become a launchpad for several athletes who have represented India at the Paralympics, bringing global acclaim to both the individuals and the supporting organizations.
With the event concluding on March 9, the ONGC Para Games continue to showcase the corporation’s ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) while promoting a progressive corporate culture that prioritizes the empowerment of all employees.
