NMDC Celebrates the Conclusion of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025
On November 3, 2025, NMDC, the premier iron producer in India, wrapped up its Vigilance Awareness Week with a dynamic closing ceremony at its headquarters in Hyderabad. This year, the event was themed “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” highlighting a week filled with activities designed to foster a culture of transparency and ethical integrity.
Week-Long Activities and Initiatives
The Vigilance Awareness Week, which began on October 27, 2025, included a variety of initiatives such as integrity pledges and contests in essay writing and elocution, alongside digital campaigns aimed at reinforcing vigilance across all of NMDC’s operations. A significant addition this year was the commencement of a three-month awareness campaign starting from August 18, 2025, lasting until November 17, 2025. This campaign features:
- Capacity-building workshops led by both active and retired government officials.
- Implementation of the iGOT module for online training in vigilance practices.
- Organization of Gram Sabhas to involve community stakeholders directly in integrity discussions.
Highlights from the Valedictory Ceremony
The closing event on November 1 was notably marked by a keynote speech from Major General Ajay Misra, who oversees operations in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Sub Area. He passionately spoke about the essential role of personal integrity in corporate culture, emphasizing that “Integrity should be a constant, underlying all our actions and decisions, establishing a trustworthy foundation for our operations.”
Attending the ceremony were top NMDC executives including Shri Vinay Kumar, Director (Technical), Shri Joydeep Dasgupta, Director (Production), Smt. Priyadarshini, Director (Personnel), and Shri C Neelakanta Reddy, Chief Vigilance Officer. Each reflected on the strategic role of vigilance in enhancing the organization’s operational transparency and efficiency.
