Shri Sanjay Kulshrestha, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO), has emphasized the organization’s unwavering commitment to advancing projects that promote comprehensive development, bolster infrastructure, and significantly contribute to achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat 2047. Under his leadership, HUDCO is reinforcing its role as a reliable ally in India’s quest for sustainable and inclusive urban growth.
In the fiscal year 2025-26, HUDCO has demonstrated impressive growth in its financial operations, which is crucial for supporting urban development that aligns with the Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative. The corporation, a prominent Navratna Infrastructure Financing Company operating under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, registered remarkable increases in both loan sanctions and disbursements. Specifically, loan approvals escalated by 28.76%, reaching ₹1,64,757 crore up from ₹1,27,952 crore in the prior year, while disbursements climbed by 27.87% to ₹51,194 crore compared to ₹40,037 crore.
Attributing this robust performance to vigilant market oversight and strategic organizational changes, Kulshrestha reaffirmed HUDCO’s dedication to improving living standards and fostering inclusive, sustainable development consistent with the Government of India’s strategy for infrastructure-led economic growth and the national urban policy.
Further enhancing its role in urban development, HUDCO has introduced the ‘Urban Investment Window’ (UiWIN). This new initiative is designed to effectively direct capital into urban sector projects. By utilizing HUDCO’s extensive national presence, its longstanding relationships with Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), and its expertise in urban infrastructure financing, UiWIN aims to expand investment opportunities, strengthen on-the-ground capabilities, facilitate knowledge exchange, and promote balanced development.
