EESL and Aditya Birla Group Partner for Energy Efficiency Transformation

New Delhi, August 13, 2025 – Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) and Aditya Birla Management Corporation Pvt. Ltd. (ABMCPL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance energy efficiency in the Aditya Birla Group’s manufacturing operations. The Aditya Birla Group, with over 130 facilities and an energy consumption of 17.9 million TOE, is committed to achieving Net-Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050.

The MoU was formalized in the presence of Shri Akhilesh Kumar Dixit, CEO of EESL, and Ms. Deeksha Vats, Chief Sustainability Officer at ABMCPL. As part of this partnership, EESL will assist ABG in creating energy-saving strategies by conducting assessment and diagnostic studies at selected plants and identifying energy-saving opportunities at the group level. These studies will be carried out in collaboration with the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IIEC) and will receive financial backing from the GEF-6 project under UNEP Technical Assistance.

The collaboration aims to expedite the adoption of industrial energy efficiency and clean energy technologies through technical feasibility studies, pilot projects, and capacity-building programs. EESL will facilitate the implementation of energy efficiency projects in industrial utilities, waste heat recovery systems, and industrial automation solutions at various plants on commercial terms. This partnership underscores the joint commitment of EESL and ABMCPL to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable industrial practices in India.

This strategic alliance between Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) and the Aditya Birla Group signifies a significant stride towards propelling India towards a more sustainable economy. Not only will this collaboration spur innovation in energy-efficient technologies and sustainable practices, but it will also create opportunities for major conglomerates nationwide to embrace scalable and impactful solutions. By harmonizing industrial progress with environmental stewardship, this MoU establishes a precedent for leading corporate entities in India to spearhead the transition towards a low-carbon future.
