Ahmedabad, June 12 NewsIP : Air India’s Flight AI171 From Ahmedabad to London carrying more than two hundred passengers crashed near Ahmedabad airport today.

Media has reported that around 169 Indian nationals were on Board. British, Portugese and Canadian nationals are also reported to be on board. 133 deaths have been confirmed. Injured have been rushed to hospitals. Apart from Fire & Safety officials, various teams, including NDRF have rushed to the site to render assistance and ascertain further details. Only after investigations will the cause of this sad accident be known.
In TV pictures, one can see smoke and fire on the ground as well. Police have diverted traffic and efforts are on for containment. MoS Civil Aviation has said at present the focus is on rescue operations.
