The award was presented by Dr Laszlo Makk, Deputy Head of Mission, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Hungary, at the 10th National CSR Summit & CSR Times Award 2023 conference on August 21, 2023. The ceremony was presided over by the Union Minister of State, Health and Family Welfare, Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel. Sh. Vishnoi highlighted THDCIL’s remarkable efforts in water conservation and environmental management, which have transformed the lives of rural villagers in Tehri Garhwal. The company’s initiatives have significantly eased the financial and physical burdens of the villagers by ensuring improved water availability. The event’s jury members and chief guest lauded THDCIL’s sincere commitment to addressing acute water scarcity issues within its operational region. These efforts have not only alleviated water scarcity during lean seasons but have also breathed new life into the Pratapnagar and Bhilangana Blocks of the Tehri district.

In addition to its water conservation project, THDCIL actively engages in healthcare initiatives, operating allopathic and homoeopathic dispensaries in areas affected by its projects and conducting medical camps across its operational domains. The company also operates schools tailored for marginalized children, offers training programs and scholarships for skill development, and empowers women through computer training, tailoring programs, beautician courses, and various livelihood activities. THDCIL also supports the agricultural sector by providing farmers with fruit saplings, vegetable seeds, polyhouses, and relevant training to enhance agricultural practices and increase yields. Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDCIL, received the award on behalf of the company in the Bronze category.
