During a ceremony at the THDCIL Corporate Office in Rishikesh, Executive Director Neeraj Verma led the administration of the Swachhata Pledge, aimed at bolstering commitment to environmental health and cleanliness.

The campaign includes a vibrant array of activities designed to elevate public awareness and stimulate community involvement. Notably, street performances themed “Clean India, Green India, Healthy India” were held in key public areas such as Janaki Setu and Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh. These performances, along with others by students from Narendra Mahila Vidyalay at various THDC locations, played a crucial role in promoting essential messages about sanitation and environmental care.

Additionally, THDCIL has rolled out multiple community-driven initiatives, including cleanliness drives and educational competitions, at several of its project sites, like the Amelia Coal Mine Project and the 1000 MW Tehri Hydro Power Plant, among others. These activities are tailored to foster environmental awareness and encourage community participation, with a particular focus on engaging students, women, and local community members.

Specific sessions focusing on menstrual hygiene and women’s health were conducted, providing valuable information and resources to women and girls. These sessions were complemented by the distribution of sanitary products and biodegradable bags, supporting sustainable health practices.

THDCIL’s ongoing efforts during Swachhata Pakhwada illustrate a profound commitment to fostering a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment. The campaign continues to unfold with more planned activities aimed at community involvement and environmental stewardship across THDCIL’s various operational settings.

The campaign is set to conclude on May 31, 2026, but not before several more initiatives aimed at cleanliness and community engagement are executed, demonstrating THDCIL’s enduring pledge to societal well-being and ecological responsibility.
