New Delhi, July 14, 2025 – Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has announced the appointment of Subhankar Sen as its new Director (Marketing), a move that underscores the company’s focus on innovation, customer engagement, and sustainable development.
Sen, a long-time BPCL executive with more than 30 years of experience, steps into the role amid the state-owned oil major’s push toward digital transformation and eco-friendly initiatives. The appointment was confirmed by BPCL’s corporate communications team in a statement to NewsIP, highlighting Sen’s extensive track record in driving strategic changes across the company’s operations.
Throughout his career at BPCL, Sen has led key transformations in multiple business areas, particularly in retail and lubricants. As Business Head for Retail (West), he introduced innovative concepts such as BeCafe outlets at fuel stations, enhancing customer experiences and modernizing retail formats.
Sen’s contributions also include expanding the MAK Lubricants brand both domestically and internationally. His efforts, aligned with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, have improved operational efficiencies for customers while bolstering BPCL’s market presence.
As a member of BPCL’s core strategy team, Sen has been instrumental in developing flagship brands and customer-focused platforms, while forging partnerships across sectors. In his role as Oil Industry Coordinator, he advanced India’s clean mobility goals through programs like Doorstep Diesel Delivery and eDrive for electric vehicle fast-charging corridors.
Known for his people-oriented leadership style, Sen’s elevation comes at a pivotal time as BPCL navigates toward a digitally enabled and sustainable future. The company expressed confidence in his ability to guide its marketing strategies toward greater innovation and growth.
