SCOPE Leads Global Gender Equality Event

SCOPE Leads Global Gender Equality Event

In preparation for International Women’s Day, SCOPE took the initiative to organize a distinguished interactive event titled “Gender Issues in the World of Work.” The session was led by Shri Atul Sobti, Director General of SCOPE and a member of the Governing Board at the International Labour Organization (ILO).

This event was conducted in partnership with the VVGNLI of the Ministry of Labour and Employment and saw participation from an international group spanning 11 countries, including notable attendees from the Tanzanian Parliament, the Mongolian Constitutional Court, and the police departments of Fiji and Liberia. The purpose was to examine India’s strategies for fostering gender equality and inclusive growth within the workplace.

SCOPE, serving as the principal organization for Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs), took this opportunity to emphasize its international influence and outline its primary initiatives. One such initiative is the Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS), which boasts a membership exceeding 16,000 individuals.

The dialogue at the session also covered SCOPE’s comprehensive study with the ILO on the dynamics of Work from Home (WfH) and various programs aimed at empowering women, thereby ensuring a fair and comprehensive professional environment in PSEs.
