Petronet LNG Ltd* achieved its highest ever volume throughput of 262 TBTU for any quarter in Q1 FY 2024-25. The company also reported its highest ever Profit Before Tax (PBT) and Profit After Tax (PAT) in the first quarter of any previous financial years.
The company saw a growth in volume throughput by 12% over the previous quarter Q4 FY 2023-24 and by 14% over the corresponding quarter Q1 FY 2023-24. Similarly, PBT and PAT grew by 53% and 55%, respectively, over the previous quarter Q4 FY 2023-24, and by 43% and 45%, respectively, over the corresponding quarter Q1 FY 2023-24.
During the current quarter ended 30th June, 2024, the Dahej terminal processed the highest ever 248 TBTU of LNG, compared to 219 TBTU in the previous quarter ended 31st March, 2024, and 217 TBTU in the corresponding quarter ended 30th June, 2023, witnessing growth of 13% and 14%, respectively. The Dahej terminal achieved a capacity utilization of 109% in the current quarter, compared to 97% in the previous quarter and 96% in the corresponding quarter.
The overall LNG volume processed by the company in the current quarter was 262 TBTU, as against 234 TBTU in the previous quarter and 230 TBTU in the corresponding quarter, reflecting growth of 12% and 14%, respectively.
Petronet LNG reported a PBT of Rs 1,520 crore in the current quarter, compared to Rs 996 crore in the previous quarter and Rs 1,062 crore in the corresponding quarter, registering growth of 53% and 43%, respectively. The PAT for the current quarter stood at Rs 1,142 crore, compared to Rs 738 crore in the previous quarter and Rs 790 crore in the corresponding quarter, showing a growth of 55% and 45%, respectively. Both PBT and PAT for the current quarter are the highest ever reported by the company in the first quarter of any previous financial years.
The company attributed its higher throughput and robust financial results to stable LNG prices, better capacity utilization of its terminals, and operational efficiency.
