Oil India Director Launches Solar PV Installer Course at SDI Guwahati

Shri Ashok Das, Director (HR), Oil India Limited, inaugurates Solar PV Installer Course at SDI Guwahati In a significant step towards fostering green skills and sustainable development, the Skill Development Institute (SDI) Guwahati has launched the Solar PV Installer (Suryamitra) Course in collaboration with Learnet Skills Limited. The course, designed to empower youth with skills in the growing renewable energy sector, was inaugurated on September 4, 2024. The first batch of 58 candidates has already been successfully placed in prestigious companies across India, including Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and L&T Hazira Offshore Plant. This achievement marks a significant milestone in SDI Guwahati’s mission to equip youth with industry-relevant skills. The importance of green jobs in today’s world was highlighted by Shri Ashok Das, who emphasized the role of solar energy in contributing to India’s vision of a sustainable and energy-efficient future. The Solar PV Installer Course is seen as a crucial initiative in this direction. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Shri Arunjyoti Baruah, CEO, SDI Guwahati, and other dignitaries. The students of SDI Guwahati also interacted with the guests, making the event a resounding success.
