Record Participation Across Nine Regional Hubs
Noida, October 8, 2026 | By NewsIP Bureau : Advik Kabra and Ashish Cherian Thannickal of IIT Madras have clinched the national championship at the NTPC Electron Quiz 2026–27, concluding India’s premier corporate and business quiz held in Noida.
The grand finale on October 8 marked the culmination of a nationwide competition that kicked off on September 5 with regional rounds across nine cities, drawing participation from over 1,100 teams. Sreeram Madhavan V and Ishaan Joshi, also representing IIT Madras, secured the second position, while Waqar Moid and Parth Arya Bhat of IIT Kanpur finished third.
The national champions were awarded a cash prize of ₹1,00,000, with the second- and third-place teams taking home ₹60,000 and ₹40,000, respectively.
Speaking at the event, Anil Kumar Jadli, Director (HR) of NTPC, congratulated the winners and emphasized the company’s evolution into an integrated energy major. He encouraged young minds to embrace transformation and continuous learning in their professional journeys.
The regional legs of the flagship event—themed ‘The World of Business & Management’—were hosted across Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Raipur, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Noida. Running since 2004, the annual quiz continues to serve as a key platform for fostering intellectual growth and business acumen among higher education students across India.
