Hyderabad, April 14, 2026: NMDC commemorated the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar with solemn ceremonies at its corporate office in Hyderabad and across its project sites nationwide.
The observance was led by Amitava Mukherjee, Chairman and Managing Director, along with the company’s senior leadership team. Employees and executives gathered to pay homage, reflecting on Ambedkar’s enduring legacy and contributions to the nation.
Organised by the NMDC Head Office SC/ST Employees Welfare Association, the event witnessed active participation from staff across levels. The association’s office bearers coordinated the programme, ensuring a meaningful and inclusive tribute.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp and floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait, followed by a prayer session honouring his vision and ideals.
Addressing the gathering, Mukherjee highlighted that the principles of liberty, equality and fraternity remain central to India’s democratic framework. He noted that these ideals continue to guide NMDC’s approach, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive growth, fairness and dignity in the workplace.
