NHPC’s Landmark Pact with IIM Jammu
Synopsis

NHPC Limited, a leading Hydropower Company in India and a prestigious Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has recently entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the esteemed Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, a renowned institution of national importance.
The MoU, which was officially sealed on 31.07.2025 at NHPC’s Corporate Office in Faridabad, marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration between academia and industry, focusing on enhancing leadership skills, fostering institutional learning, and promoting research-driven transformation.
The MoU was formally signed by Shri Rajeev R. Asthana, General Manager (HRD) at NHPC, and Cmdr. Kesavan Baskkaran (Retd.), Chief Administrative Officer at IIM Jammu, in the presence of distinguished individuals including Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel) at NHPC, Prof. Rajesh Sikka, Co-Chairperson (Executive Education & Consultancy) at IIM Jammu, Shri N.K. Jain, Executive Director (HR) at NHPC, and other senior officials.
Expressing his views on this collaboration, Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel) at NHPC, emphasized, “This MoU signifies NHPC’s strategic approach to implementing structured learning programs that align with national priorities and global leadership standards. We are excited to partner with IIM Jammu to develop innovative leadership pathways that will shape the future leaders in the public sector.”
This partnership highlights NHPC’s steadfast dedication to nurturing a high-performing workforce that is prepared for the future, equipped with modern leadership skills and strategic thinking abilities. It also demonstrates the company’s aspiration to integrate global best practices into its Human Resource Development framework by leveraging the academic expertise and intellectual resources of IIM Jammu.
