New Delhi, July 14, 2026: NHPC Limited has successfully restarted commercial operations at two units of its Teesta-V Power Station in Sikkim.
Unit 1 and Unit 2 — each of 170 MW capacity — began commercial generation as per schedule on July 13, 2026, at 17:00 hours, following their synchronization with the grid. The 510 MW Teesta-V station comprises three units of 170 MW each.
The company stated that commercial generation from the remaining Unit 3 will be intimated in due course.
This resumption strengthens NHPC’s contribution to the regional power grid and supports reliable electricity supply from the strategically important hydro project.
