Why You Need a Digital Detox Today
8,October:2026 : ROHTAK — Reaching for your smartphone first thing in the morning may be quietly escalating your stress levels and sapping your concentration. Addressing this modern habit, wellness speakers at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLCSUPVA) shared actionable steps for a daily digital detox on October 8, 2026.
The session, organized by the Physical and Mental Wellness Club as part of the ‘Empowered India with New Consciousness’ program, featured insights from Brahma Kumari Monika and Dr. Ajit Rana. While acknowledging that smartphones and social media streamline modern communication and learning, speakers cautioned that unchecked screen usage damages interpersonal relationships and psychological well-being.
To counteract digital fatigue, experts recommended small lifestyle adjustments: keeping phones away during family meals, avoiding screens before bedtime, and spending a few quiet moments in morning reflection rather than checking notifications immediately. Coupled with Rajyoga meditation, these habits help individuals regain control over their daily focus and mental tranquility, with Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha supporting the university’s wellness outreach.
