Groundbreaking Study Initiated by SCOPE and ICF to Enhance Coaching in Indian Public Sector Enterprises

In a pioneering move, the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) together with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) of the USA, have inaugurated a detailed study titled “State of Coaching in Indian PSEs.” This initiative marks a significant first step in comprehensively understanding the present coaching environment and organizational culture within Indian Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs).

The primary goal of this study is to create a distinctive framework tailored for the Indian public sector. This framework aims to assimilate coaching methodologies and foster the development of internal coaching competencies within PSEs. To achieve a robust and strategic coaching framework, the study will utilize a combination of primary and secondary data collection methods.

Objectives and Expectations from the Study

Capitalizing on the joint expertise of SCOPE, which serves as the principal body of PSEs, and the ICF, recognized globally as a leading organization promoting coaching excellence, the study seeks to set new standards for leadership in Indian PSEs. The focus is notably on cultivating internal coaching skills and creating specialized tools to support this initiative.

  • Evidence-Based Approach: By adopting an evidence-based approach, the study aspires to not only outline effective strategies but also to measure the direct impact of coaching practices on leadership development and sustainable business outcomes.
  • Commitment to Excellence: This research is a critical component of SCOPE’s ongoing commitment to achieving organizational excellence within the public sector.
  • Leadership and Sustainable Growth: A significant emphasis is placed on linking leadership enhancement directly to sustainable business results, ensuring that growth is both effective and enduring.

This collaborative study between SCOPE and ICF is expected to bring about a transformative change in the way coaching and leadership development are perceived and implemented within Indian Public Sector Enterprises, setting a benchmark for future initiatives.
