Abu Dhabi, UAE, November 14, 2024 – In a major boost to India’s energy security, GAIL (India) Limited has signed a 10-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with ADNOC Gas for the delivery of up to 0.52 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) of liquefied natural gas (LNG), starting in 2026. *Key Highlights:* – 10-year SPA for up to 0.52 MMTPA LNG delivery – Six cargoes per year from ADNOC Gas’ Das Island facility – India’s LNG imports expected to rise, driven by coal-to-gas switching and power generation – GAIL to increase term LNG portfolio to meet growing demand *India’s LNG Market Growth* India, the fourth-largest LNG importer globally, aims to increase natural gas share in its energy mix to 15% by 2030.
