The bid is for the creation of an Inter-State Transmission System for a project aimed at efficiently evacuating power from Pumped Storage Projects in Sonbhadra District, Uttar Pradesh. This project marks a substantial step towards bolstering the power infrastructure in the region.
The renowned company behind this success is none other than Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, commonly referred to as POWERGRID. Their prowess in the field has once again shone through, as they have secured the project on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. This achievement underscores their commitment to enhancing the nation’s power transmission capabilities.
The Letter of Intent (LoI) confirming POWERGRID as the successful bidder was officially received on the 4th of September, 2025. This milestone signifies the beginning of a new chapter in the company’s journey towards contributing to the country’s power network.
The scope of the project includes the establishment of a cutting-edge 765/400kV Pooling Sub-station, along with bay extension works at various upcoming sub-stations. Additionally, the project involves the implementation of crucial 765kV transmission line works in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
These developments are poised to bring about a positive transformation in the power distribution landscape of the region.
