Despite the looming decision, no concrete steps have been taken towards selecting a permanent CMD for this company, keeping stakeholders and observers on edge.
The departure of Nand Lal Sharma from SJVN has triggered a wave of temporary CMD appointments within the company. Geeta Kapoor, Sushil Sharma, Rajkumar Chaudhary, and currently, Bhupendra Gupta have been entrusted with shouldering the responsibilities of the additional charge.
Industry experts speculate that this company, following in the footsteps of NHPC, will become the next in line to grapple with an extended period of having an interim CMD. NHPC itself had faced a similar situation with prolonged interim charges in the past.
