The Chairman and Managing Director of NHPC, Shri Bhupender Gupta, accepted the award from the distinguished Union Minister for Home and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah. The ceremony took place at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Center in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on 14 September 2025. The event was graced by the presence of eminent personalities including Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendra Patel and several Union Ministers.
The Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar is a prestigious accolade bestowed by the Government of India to recognize excellence in Official Language Implementation. This marks the third time that ‘Rajbhasha Jyoti’ has been honored with this award, having previously won the first prize in 2019-20 and the second prize in 2016-17.
Furthermore, NHPC has been a consistent achiever in promoting the use of Hindi, having received the Rajbhasha Kirti Award on ten occasions for exemplary language implementation among public sector undertakings. The company secured the first prize for the years 2008-09, 2009-10, 2011-12, 2014-15, and 2016-17, and the second prize for the years 2010-11, 2012-13, 2015-16, and 2020-21.
Through its dedication to promoting the official language Hindi, NHPC continues to set benchmarks not only in hydropower generation and development but also in fostering linguistic diversity and inclusivity.
