IGL’s “Next Starts Now” Theme Focuses on Energy Security and Sustainability

During IEW-25, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) Director Commercial Mr. Mohita Bhatia shared with NewsIP that IGL has introduced the theme “Next Starts Now”, emphasizing energy self-sufficiency and sustainability for India. Mr. Bhatia highlighted that compressed bio-gas (CBG) plays a key role in this initiative. With an estimated 62 million tons of available bio-feedstock, significant energy potential can be unlocked for self-reliance in energy security. He further explained that India consumes around 90 billion tons of diesel annually, and 10–15% of this consumption is from long-haul operations. By adopting LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) as an alternative, substantial cost benefits and reduced dependence on traditional fuels can be achieved. With these innovations, IGL aims to promote clean energy and reduce carbon footprint, aligning with its vision of a sustainable future under the “Next Starts Now” initiative.
