GAIL secures 60% back-to-back of total volume.

Goa:6 Feb.24: GAIL (India) Limited has entered into a renewed long-term contract with Qatar Energy, facilitated by Petronet LNG Limited (PLL), securing an off-take commitment of 4.5 MMTPA LNG. Under the updated LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA), GAIL (India) Limited, a prominent Maharatna PSU, will receive 60% of the total volumes on a substantially back-to-back basis. This strategic move strengthens GAIL’s position as India’s leading natural gas company, operating across various segments of the natural gas value chain, including trading, transmission, LPG production, LNG re-gasification, petrochemicals, city gas, and exploration and production. With a vast network of 16,080 km of natural gas pipelines, GAIL commands a significant market share in gas transmission and trading. The company’s expanding presence in renewable energy, coupled with its formidable standing in City Gas Distribution and the LNG market, reflects a diversified and robust business portfolio.
