Mumbai, May 30, 2026:** Haryana’s tuberculosis diagnostic network is set for a major boost as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Fortune Global 500 company and Maharatna PSU, extends support for the deployment of 150 TrueNat Molecular Diagnostic Quattro Machines under the state’s “TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.”
The initiative was launched at Panchkula on May 29, 2026, by Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, in the presence of Smt. Arti Singh Rao, Hon’ble Health Minister of Haryana.
Driven by a tripartite partnership among BPCL Foundation, HLL Infra Tech Services Limited (HITES), and the Directorate General Health Services (DGHS), Haryana, the project comes under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP). Its central focus is to improve early tuberculosis detection and speed up diagnosis across Haryana.
The 150 WHO-endorsed TrueNat machines will be placed across Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres, and district healthcare facilities covering approximately 22 districts. By strengthening diagnostic support closer to communities, the programme is expected to improve healthcare access, especially in rural and underserved regions.
TrueNat technology offers rapid and accurate molecular testing for Tuberculosis and Rifampicin-resistant TB, with results delivered in nearly one hour. This faster turnaround is expected to reduce diagnostic delays, support timely treatment, and help lower transmission risks within communities.
With an estimated annual testing capacity of around 5.4 lakh tests, the project is positioned to significantly expand Haryana’s decentralized TB diagnostic infrastructure. The initiative also strengthens the broader vision of a “TB Mukt Haryana”and aligns with the Government of India’s goal of a “TB Mukt Bharat.”
Senior officials from the Government of Haryana attended the event, including Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Haryana, and Dr. Rajesh Raju, State TB Officer, Haryana. BPCL was represented by Mr. Manish Kumar Garg, State Head (LPG), Delhi, Haryana & Uttarakhand, and Mr. Kelvin Christie, Manager (CSR), BPCL.
Through this healthcare-focused CSR intervention, BPCL Foundation reinforces its commitment to nation-building, inclusive healthcare, and community well-being while supporting a national public health priority.
