Mr. Ashok Kumar, Deputy Directorted the significance of DEEP projects (BEE), highligh, said, “I am pleased to join EESL in this insightful workshop with other important industrial dignitaries. Today, we are all aware of the recent climate change warnings and reports released by scientists globally. The findings of climate report have necessitated industries and leaders to come together to help mitigate the climate crisis.

In this regard, we have realized the importance of energy efficiency and innovations to safeguard our future and reduce the emissions caused by the burning of fossil fuels. Through its various programmes and initiatives, EESL has reduced the annual energy consumption of India by 57 billion units, helping the country reduce CO2 emission by 45.5 million tonnes annually. We are now scaling up the adoption of these initiatives across industries through the DEEP initiative.

Sh. Jagdish Arora, ED, CET Steel Authority of India Ltd., stated, “We will provide our full support for the large-scale implementation of DEEP projects and achieving the PAT targets across SAIL plants in the country. SAIL would also propagate the benefits of newly identified technologies for smaller subsidiary associate plants. The implementation of these projects is critical not only from the environmental benefits perspective but also enhancing the profitability of industries in the region.

EESL has spearheaded the implementation of energy-efficient projects at scale, through its innovative business and demand aggregation models. DEEP is a collaborative effort of both EESL and BEE, focused on enabling India to meet its climate action goals and accelerate it’s path to an energy secure future by leveraging potential of energy savings available in the industry space.
