Rishikesh, 25-02-2024: In a significant stride towards social responsibility, THDC India Limited (THDCIL) has bolstered healthcare services at Vivekanand Netralaya Eye Hospital, Dehradun. Chairman and Managing Director, Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, announced the installation of Zeiss Microscope Model OPMI LUMERA on 700 in the hospital’s new operation theatre.

Universal Healthcare Vision

Reflecting THDCIL’s commitment to universal healthcare access, Director (Finance) Sh. J. Behera inaugurated the state-of-the-art equipment. Sh. Vishnoi emphasized THDCIL’s dedication to addressing healthcare challenges, including running an allopathy dispensary in Deengaon, Tehri District, and organizing health camps in collaboration with various healthcare institutions.

Advancing Eye Care Facilities

Sh. J. Behera revealed THDCIL’s CSR project, providing Rs. 1.25 Cr. for the Zeiss Microscope Model, aiming to offer top-notch eye care to remote and underprivileged communities in Uttarakhand and neighboring districts. This initiative targets improved eye care facilities, encompassing cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, retina surgery, and corneal transplant.

Pivotal Impact on Eye Morbidity

THDCIL’s intervention plays a crucial role in addressing eye morbidity, promoting health-seeking behavior, and reducing out-of-pocket expenditure for hilly communities in Uttarakhand. The General Manager (S&E) Sh. Amardeep Singh, along with other senior officers, attended the inauguration ceremony, marking THDCIL as a champion for healthcare in the hilly regions.
