SCOPE-ILO Unveils Groundbreaking Study on “Skilling for Future

New Delhi, May 21, 2024: In a significant move to address the imperative need for skilling in the public sector, the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) jointly released a pioneering study titled “Skilling for Future in PSEs: An ILO-SCOPE Study on Skills Profiles in PSEs”.

The study, launched in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Ms. Michiko Miyamoto, Country Director, ILO India, and Mr. Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman, SCOPE & CMD, GAIL, offers sector-specific strategies and recommendations to bridge the skilling gap in public sector enterprises (PSEs).

The event, attended by top officials from PSEs and ILO, both physically and virtually, highlighted the crucial role of skilling in today’s fast-paced landscape. The presentation of the study’s key findings and recommendations provided a glimpse into the first-of-its-kind endeavor to analyze skill profiles in PSEs against the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).

SCOPE, committed to aligning PSEs with international benchmarks, has been conducting research-based studies in critical areas like climate change, women empowerment, digital transformations, leadership development, and skill profiles, in collaboration with renowned organizations like ILO and GIZ, Germany.

This landmark study is poised to play a vital role in shaping the future of skilling in PSEs, enabling them to stay competitive and agile in an ever-evolving landscape.
