NHPC Commemorates Glorious 77th Independence Day

Faridabad: NHPC Commemorates Glorious 77th Independence Day: NHPC Limited, the eminent hydroelectric enterprise of India, marked the nation’s 77th Independence Day on the 15th of August, 2023, with an event brimming with fervent patriotism and unwavering enthusiasm. The commemoration commenced with the ceremonial unfurling of the National flag by the distinguished Shri R.K. Vishnoi, CMD of NHPC, accompanied by the resonant strains of the National Anthem. Among the attendees were luminaries such as Shri R.P. Goyal, Director of Finance at NHPC, and Shri Uttam Lal, Director of Personnel at NHPC, along with other esteemed officials and staff, accompanied by their families, all gathering at the NHPC Office Complex in Faridabad.
In his address, Shri conveyed his felicitations to the entire NHPC family on this momentous Independence Day. He underscored that the arduous struggle and sacrifices made by our freedom fighters to secure independence place a profound responsibility on each one of us to contribute collectively to the progress of our nation. Shri Vishnoi emphasized the visionary call of India’s Hon’ble Prime Minister for an energy transformation, highlighting that NHPC stands as a vanguard in the realm of green energy with its 100% renewable energy status. The ardour and diligence exhibited by NHPC’s personnel across diverse power stations and projects were extolled, and their contributions toward the augmentation of the Renewable Energy portfolio were lauded. Shri Vishnoi also hailed the rapid restoration of power generation post the flash flood-induced damages at three power stations in Himachal Pradesh, praising the station teams for their swift response.
Expanding upon NHPC’s accomplishments, Shri Vishnoi disclosed that the preceding fiscal year witnessed a landmark capital expenditure of Rs 7800 Crore, and he revealed an even more ambitious target of surpassing Rs 10,800 Crore in the ongoing financial year. He articulated NHPC’s imminent ascent into the ranks of the world’s top ten hydroelectric enterprises, rallying all employees to ardently strive for this collective ambition. Shri R.K. Vishnoi avowedly announced progressive enhancements in the form of laptops for all NHPC employees and additional benefits for the contracted workforce. Shri Uttam Lal, Director of Personnel, further addressed the assembly, underlining NHPC’s conscientious efforts toward employee well-being, notably exemplified by bespoke maternal care policies.
The proceedings included a solemn pledge-taking ceremony, during which the CMD, NHPC, administered the ‘Panch Pran’ oath as part of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ initiative, an integral component of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ commemorations orchestrated by the Government of India. Additionally, Shri R.K. Vishnoi unveiled the latest iteration of NHPC’s “Cyber Security Policy,” an important stride toward safeguarding the enterprise’s digital landscape.
