Members of the Standing Committee appreciated THDCIL’s commitment to the project

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Water Resources visited at Tehri Project on 08.05.2023. The Hon’ble Members of the Standing Committee Shri. Prabhatbhai Patel, Hon’ble Member of Lok Sabha and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Water Resources, Shri. Kirodi Lal Meena, Hon’ble Member of Rajya Sabha, Shri. Partap Chandra Sarangi, Hon’ble Member of Lok Sabha, Shri. Vijay Baghel, Hon’ble Member of Lok Sabha, Shri. Guman Singh Damor, Hon’ble Member of Lok Sabha, Shri. Aneel Kumar Hegde, Hon’ble Member of Rajya Sabha, Shri. P. Ravindhranath, Hon’ble Member of Lok Sabha and Shri. Nihal Chand Chauhan, Hon’ble Member of Lok Sabha were welcomed by Shri. R.K. Vishnoi, CMD (THDCIL), Shri. J. Behera, Director ( Finance & Personnel), THDCIL, Dr. Saurabh Gawarhar, District Magistrate, Tehri, Shri. Navneet Singh, SSP, Tehri, Shri. L.P. Joshi, Executive Director, (Tehri Complex) and Dr. A.N. Tripathy, AGM (HR&A), THDCIL. The Hon’ble Members visited the Tehri Project site and were informed in detail by CMD, ED(TC), and THDCIL regarding the whole power project, in the gracious presence of the Director (Finance and Personnel), THDCIL. Following lunch at Top Terrace Guest House at Bhagirathipuram, Tehri, a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Water Resources was held at Conference Hall, Top Terrace Guest House. Senior officials from Parliament Secretariat, Central Water Commission, and Irrigation Department attended the meeting. Shri. Ajay Kumar Sood, Director ( Parliamentary Secretariat) and Secretary to the Standing Committee, Shri. Navin Kumar, Member ( CWC), Shri. Rajesh Kumar, Director (CWC), Shri. Harish Chandra Semwal, Secretary(Irrigation), Govt. Of Uttarkhand, Shri. Karmendra Singh, Additional Secretary (Irrigation), Govt. Of Uttarkhand, also attended the meeting. A detailed presentation of the entire Tehri Project was also presented by ED(TC) for the Committee members. The meeting concluded with the Hon’ble Members appreciating THDCIL’s commitment to the project.
