Major General Rajesh Kumar Jha Spearheads Strategic Collaborations and Energy Transition Initiatives at NEEPCO

In a noteworthy development, Major General Rajesh Kumar Jha, the Director of Human Resources Development at NEEPCO, has orchestrated pivotal Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) that underscore the company’s commitment to capability development and energy transition.

On February 23, NEEPCO signed a significant MoU with the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) to enhance its capabilities. This collaboration aims to empower NEEPCO’s workforce with the latest skills and knowledge required for the dynamic energy sector.

Subsequently, on February 29, another milestone was achieved with the signing of an MoU between NEEPCO and the RASHTRIYA RAKSHA UNIVERSITY(RRU). This partnership signifies a strategic move towards fostering innovation and sustainability in the company’s operations.

Major General Rajesh Kumar Jha, at the helm of these initiatives, is strategically directing efforts towards upskilling NEEPCO employees in new and innovative technologies. The objective is to ensure that the workforce is well-equipped to meet the challenges of the future and contribute effectively to the energy transition.

In alignment with this vision, NEEPCO is diversifying its energy portfolio by venturing into solar power. The company is set to embark on its first solar project outside of the North East region, located at Bhanipur in Bikaner. This ambitious project, slated to be completed within the next 17 months, aims to generate 300 MW of solar power.

As a precursor to this large-scale venture, NEEPCO has already established a 5 MW Pilot Solar Power Project at Monarchak, Tripura. This serves as a testament to the company’s commitment to exploring and implementing sustainable energy solutions.
