New Delhi: We have to make efforts to reduce thermal power dependence,” said Manohar Lal Khattar, India’s Power Minister, during the 100 days of the government celebration in New Delhi.
He emphasized the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve zero emissions by minimizing dependency on thermal power plants. Mr. Khattar declared, “By 2030, we will have to make every effort to minimize our dependence on thermal power as much as possible.” This statement reflects India’s increasing commitment to green energy.
India has set an ambitious target of installing 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. The country is undertaking various initiatives to promote solar and wind energy projects. Furthermore, the government has introduced multiple policies and programs to boost renewable energy, such as the Pradhan Mantri Surya Griha Yojana, which aims to install solar panels in 10 million homes.
