Rishikesh: THDC India Limited achieved another significant milestone with the boxing up of the first unit (250MW variable speed pump turbine) of 1000MW Tehri Pump Storage Project (PSP)on 30th March 2023 at 20:30hrs.
On this auspicious occasion Sh. L.P. Joshi, Executive Director (Tehri Complex 2400MW), Sh. Ajai Shukla, Project Director (Consortium of M/s GEHF, M/s GEPIL and M/s HCC ), Sh.A.R.Gairola, AGM (CM-PSP), Dr. A. N. Tripathy, AGM(HR&A, CC), Sh.Mallikarjuna K,AGM(EM&HM-PSP),Sh.S.K.Sahoo, AGM(EM&HM-PSP) and other senior officials of THDCIL & GEPIL were also present.
Further, Sh. L.P. Joshi, ED (Tehri Complex) & Head of PSP Project congratulated the entire team of PSP for putting their sincere & concerted efforts towards the achievement of this milestone. He expressed his gratitude to all the persons connected directly or indirectly with the execution of this prestigious project.
It is also worthy to mention that THDCIL has also successfully completed the erection of runner of Second unit of 250 MW Tehri PSP on 28th March 2023 at 11.00 hours.
The achievement of these remarkable milestones has brought THDCIL one step closer to the commissioning of the Nation’s first Variable Speed Pump Storage Project (1000MW).
THDCIL is one of the premier power generators in the country with installed capacity of 1587 MW with commissioning of Tehri Dam and HPP (1000 MW), Koteshwar HEP (400 MW) in Uttarakhand, Wind Power Projects of 50 MW at Patan and 63 MW at Dwarka in Gujarat, 24 MW Dhukwan Small Hydro Project, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh and 50 MW Solar Power Project at Kasaragod, Kerala to its credit.
