Rishikesh, December 30, 2024: Sh. R.K. Vishnoi, CMD of THDC India Limited (THDCIL), proudly announced that the organization has been honored as “India’s Best Hydropower Project Enterprise” at the 17th PRAKASHmay ENERTIA Awards 2024. This accolade, which recognizes excellence in sustainable energy and renewables, highlights THDCIL’s leadership in storage hydropower and pumped storage plant (PSP) development.
The award ceremony, held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, saw the recognition being presented by Shri Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson, CEA, along with distinguished experts from the energy sector. The honor was accepted on behalf of THDCIL by Sh. C.S. Rana, AGM (Tehri PSP), and Sh. Ashish Mamgain, DGM (Tehri PSP).
Sh. Vishnoi extended heartfelt congratulations to the team, emphasizing that this achievement symbolizes the organization’s commitment to innovative, sustainable energy solutions. The 1000 MW Tehri PSP was particularly lauded for its state-of-the-art technology and successful synchronization of India’s first variable-speed PSP unit to the grid.
Directors Sh. Shallinder Singh (Personnel), Sh. Bhupender Gupta (Technical), and Sh. Sipan Kumar Garg (Finance) also commended the team’s dedication, highlighting their collective efforts in advancing green energy solutions and overcoming technical challenges.
Sh. L.P. Joshi, Executive Director (Tehri Complex), praised the operational excellence of the Tehri Power Complex, which includes Tehri HPP and Koteshwar HEP. He acknowledged the perseverance and expertise of the team in achieving this remarkable milestone.
