Strengthening Pilgrimage Safety: THDCIL Joins Hands for Vaishno Devi Route Stabilization

Rishikesh, April 8, 2025 – THDC India Limited (THDCIL) has taken a significant step toward infrastructure safety by signing a Tripartite MoU with the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and the Geological Survey of India. This strategic collaboration focuses on slope stability studies along the revered Yatra route in Jammu & Kashmir.
With this agreement, THDCIL brings its proven expertise in hydro engineering, geotechnical analysis, and landslide mitigation to one of the most critical religious corridors in India. The initiative is designed to ensure long-term structural stability, safeguarding millions of pilgrims who visit the shrine annually.
The Geological Survey of India will conduct geological investigations, while THDCIL will carry out detailed geotechnical and geophysical surveys, followed by the design of advanced slope protection systems.
THDCIL has been a trusted technical consultant to the Shrine Board since 2011 and has delivered over 430 DPRs across India for slope stabilization projects. Its contributions have also extended beyond borders, with successful consultancy work in Bhutan.
