Secretary (Power), Govt. of India inaugurates ‘Power Cup 2022’ T-20 Cricket Tournament hosted by NHPC
inauguration ceremony of Power Cup 2022, a T-20 cricket tournament being organized from 22nd May to 12th June 2022 amongst various power CPSUs under Ministry of Power/MNRE. Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC, Shri Sanjay Srivastava, Chairman, BBMB, Shri P.K. Das, CMD, IREDA, Shri A.K. Mishra, CEO, EESL, Shri R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance), NHPC and other senior officers from various participating organizations / CPSUs were also present on the occasion.
Power Cup 2022, a T-20 cricket tournament hosted by NHPC is being organized from 22nd May to 12th June 2022 amongst teams from various power sector CPSUs under Ministry of Power/ MNRE. Shri Alok Kumar, Secretary (Power), Govt. of India inaugurated ‘Power Cup 2022’ at NMAKP Sports Complex, Jamia, New Delhi on 22.05.22 in the presence of Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC, Shri Sanjay Srivastava, Chairman, BBMB, Shri P.K. Das, CMD, IREDA, Shri A.K. Mishra, CEO, EESL, Shri R.P. Goyal, Director (Finance), NHPC and other senior officers from participating organizations.
Teams of Ministry of Power, NHPC, NTPC, POWERGRID, CEA, IREDA, REC, EESL and PFC are participating in this tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Alok Kumar, Secretary (Power) Government of India extended his good wishes to all the participating teams of the tournament. He further said that sports provide an ideal platform for building up team spirit and camaraderie amongst Ministry of Power and Central Power Sector PSUs. In his welcome address Shri A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC extended his gratitude to Secretary (Power), Government of India for sparing time from his busy schedule and encouraging all the players taking part in the tournament. He further said sports is an excellent way to develop all round development of both mind and body which improves work efficiency in the long run. The inaugural match of the tournament was played between Ministry of Power and NHPC. The Ministry of Power won the match by 5 wickets.
