RECPDCL Transfers ₹512 Crore Lakadia B Transmission Project to Reliance Industries Major Boost for Renewable Energy Evacuation in Gujarat

Gurugram, February 14, 2025: In a significant move towards strengthening India’s renewable energy infrastructure, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has exclusively handed over the ₹512.58 crore Lakadia B Power Transmission Limited (SPV) to Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). The project, aimed at facilitating the evacuation of renewable energy from generators in Gujarat, was awarded to Reliance Industries through a competitive bidding process.

Reliance Industries emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, which acted as the Bid Process Coordinator. The project will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis, with a 24-month implementation timeline.

The handover ceremony was held in Gurugram, where Shri T.S.C. Bosh, CEO of RECPDCL, formally transferred the SPV to Shri N. Vaidyanathan, Senior Vice President of Reliance Industries Limited, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, RIL, and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited.
