ED of powergrid arrested by CBI , Are some more under the umbrella of a director ?

Executive Directors in CPSUs are key officials just below the Director level. It is understood that more and more names are likely to come out in the case. Are they being protected by Director of Power Grid ? it is a matter of investigation.

New Delhi:Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Executive Director of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.,and has recovered approximately 93 lacs from his possession.

It is also said that he has favoured a NOIDA based Transmission and Distribution Company. CBI also arrested Executive Vice President and Head of Transmission and Distribution, Asst Vice President & Business Head alongwith other two employees involved in the illegal transaction of gratification.

So far, CBI has registered case against the arrested Executive Director, Power Grid Corporation of India and others above named officials of the NOIDA based private Company.

It was alleged that the public servant in conspiracy with others involved in extending favours to the said private company for various works viz. preparation of inflated bills, early clearing of bills, PVC (Price Variation Clause) etc. related to contracts of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd., in lieu of demand & acceptance of illegal gratification. It was further alleged that the said company has bagged tenders, pertaining to a comprehensive scheme for Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.
