REC Foundation Marks Decade Milestone with CSR Symposium

Gurugram, December 21, 2023 – A CSR Symposium was orchestrated at the REC Corporate Headquarters in Gurugram today by REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, signifying a decade of impactful operations by REC Foundation, the CSR arm of REC Limited.

The symposium, attended by Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan, CMD, REC Ltd, along with directors, independent directors, senior officers from REC’s Regional Offices, and prominent stakeholders of REC Foundation, was meticulously organized to commemorate the milestone achieved over the past ten years.

During the event, the noteworthy achievements of CSR activities were highlighted, renewed focus areas were deliberated upon, impediments to project implementation were discussed, and strategies to expedite CSR programs were explored. The program also included the screening of a CSR film and a comprehensive presentation on REC Foundation.

Expressing gratitude, Shri Dewangan acknowledged the pivotal role played by the CSR committee’s head, Shri Manoj Pandey, and other key figures including Dr. Gambheer Singh, Director (Independent), Dr. Durgesh Nandini, Director (Independent), and Shri Ajoy Choudhary, Director (Finance), in spearheading REC’s CSR initiatives.rec_sympo

Shri Dewangan stated, “The CSR Symposium aims to pinpoint activities that warrant focused attention. We anticipate collaboration with partners who will contribute to our CSR programs, propelling them to new heights. This event will aid in the identification and implementation of projects benefiting all segments of society.”

In attendance were REC’s senior management, including Shri Narayan Thirupathy, Director (Independent), Shri VK Singh, Director (Projects), and other dedicated employees of the corporation.

With an unwavering commitment to CSR, REC Foundation strategically prioritizes projects that wield a profound impact on society, emphasizing sustainable development goals and national priorities. Over the past decade, REC Foundation has championed over 400 projects in Health, Sanitation, Safe Drinking Water, Education and Skill Development, Women Empowerment, and Environmental Sustainability, disbursing more than Rs. 1,300 Cr. and sanctioning over Rs. 2,000 Cr. towards CSR activities.
