NTPC’s Girl Empowerment Mission 2025 Ignites Transformative Change for Underprivileged Girls

New Delhi, June 6, 2025 – NTPC Limited, India’s premier power utility, has launched the sixth edition of its transformative Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM-2025), a flagship CSR initiative aligned with the Government of India’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign. The month-long residential summer workshop, spanning 41 stations across 17 states, is set to empower over 2,600 young girls from underprivileged communities near NTPC’s power stations.
GEM-2025 offers a dynamic curriculum blending academics in Hindi, English, Mathematics, and Environmental Science with practical training in computer literacy, yoga, health, safety, dance, theatre, sports, and public speaking. Industrial visits and motivational talks by prominent figures aim to spark ambition. Approximately 10% of participants will secure admission to NTPC-run schools, with fully supported high school education. Since its 2018 pilot with 392 girls, GEM has grown into a national force, impacting over 12,700 lives.
