NHPC Welcomes New Chairman & Managing Director
Faridabad: Shri Raj Kumar Chaudhary has assumed the role of Chairman & Managing Director at NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company, effective August 7, 2024. Previously, he held the position of Director (Technical) at NHPC. With a graduate degree in Civil Engineering and an Advance Diploma in Management, Shri Chaudhary brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
Throughout his illustrious career, Shri Chaudhary has steadily risen through the ranks, holding various positions in NHPC, including Director (Technical). His expertise spans all aspects of hydro-project development, from concept to commissioning. Notably, he played a key role in the commissioning of the Kalpong HE Project, which was completed 16 months ahead of schedule, and the Teesta-V HE Project in Sikkim.
Shri Chaudhary’s contributions to hydropower development extend beyond India, having served as Director (Technical) in Bhutan’s Mangdechhu & Punatsangchhu-II HE Projects. His experience and expertise have been instrumental in shaping the success of various projects, including the repair of the HRT of the 1020 MW Tala HE Project in Bhutan. As a nominee director in Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited, Shri Chaudhary continues to make significant contributions to the industry.
